My name is Basil, and I've just reached that point of sewing where I've completed a handful (perhaps 8 single-item) projects with decent results. It briefly made me a little overconfident, and so I leapt headfirst into some more difficult projects, only to realize that I am, in fact, still very much a beginner, and still have a lot to learn, especially about altering + fitting patterns to individual bodies.

I came here because this seems like a very interesting and cool project with a lot of effort put into it—and because I love Star Trek! I'm most familiar with TOS and DS9, and one day I plan to work up the gumption to put together the DS9/NEM duty jumpsuit, and perhaps the men's skant!

    Hi Basil, and welcome!

Eight completed projects is a real achievement, so congratulations!

Biting off more than you can chew is a great way to learn, but too far over that line can definitely be deflating and discouraging.

It's always nice to have another Star Trek fan around!

And the TNG skant is a fun project. 🙂
